what is a comprehensive plan?

Comprehensive planning in the State of Rhode Island is governed by Chapter 45-22.2 of the Rhode Island General Laws, entitled the “Rhode Island Comprehensive Planning and Land Use Act (the Act).

 

“Comprehensive planning by municipal government is necessary to form a rational basis for the long-term physical development of a municipality and to avoid conflicting requirements and reactive land use regulations and decisions.”

The Rhode Island Comprehensive Planning and Land Use Regulation Act, RIGL subsection 45-22.2-3(a)(1)

Meet The ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee is tasked with making sure that the interests of the Town are properly represented in the plan.

About the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee

The Town of Lincoln hired Weston & Sampson to create and update the Town's Comprehensive Community Plan. As part of this update, the Town also created a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee. The committee is tasked with making sure that the interests of the Town are properly represented in the plan.
